Zaha Hadid – Dongdaemun Design Plaza

건축가는 자하 하디드(Zaha Hadid).

이라크 출신의 영국 건축가로, 해체주의 건축의 대표적인 인물.
건축계의 노벨상이라 불리는 프리츠커상(Pritzker Architecture Prize)을 여성 최초로 수상.
DDP는 그녀의 대표작 중 하나로, 곡선과 비정형의 유선형 디자인이 특징.
이 건물은 45,133개의 알루미늄 패널로 이루어져 있으며, 패널마다 크기와 굴곡이 달라 독특한 외관을 형성하고 있고 5800톤의 철근을 사용해 기둥이 없는 실내 공간 형성.

An Iraqi-born British architect, she is a leading figure in deconstructivist architecture.
She was the first woman to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize, often called the Nobel Prize of architecture.
The DDP is one of her signature works, characterized by its curved, irregularly shaped, and streamlined design.
The building is composed of 45,133 aluminum panels, each with varying sizes and curvatures, creating a unique exterior. 5,800 tons of steel were used to create a column-free interior.

미리예약을 하고 갔다. 흥미로운 전시는 헤리티지 : 더 퓨처 판타지 HERITAGE 국가유산진흥원에서 기획한 전시회.
I made a reservation in advance and went. The most interesting exhibition was Heritage: The Future Fantasy, an exhibition planned by the National Heritage Promotion Agency.

거울을 이용한 전시는 조명과 영상으로 무한한 공간감을 준다.

사찰에서 연꽃 만들듯 그 기법을 응용한 종이 기둥들.

두번째 전시도 예약을 하였다. 일루미나티드 : 창작의 빛 한국을 비추다 라는 전시회. 현대적인 공예품으로 가구, 그릇, 장신구. 오브제 등을 전시하고 있다.
I made a reservation in advance and went. The second exhibition is titled “Illuminated: The Light of Creation Shines on Korea.” It features contemporary crafts such as furniture, dishes, jewelry, and objets d’art.

유리 재질로 만든 그릇, 세라믹 조각을 쌓아 만든 그릇, 아크릴 가구도 있었지만 식상했고, 지하공간으로 가니 가구들이 주로 있었는데 인간에 대한 배려는 없다. 그저 이쁘기만 할 뿐. 이래서 내가 공예에 빠질 수가 없다.
There were glassware, ceramics stacked on top of each other, and acrylic furniture, but they were all rather boring. In the basement, there was mostly furniture, but no consideration for people. They were just pretty. This is why I can’t get into crafts.

외부공간에 설치된 에어조형물. 눈알이 4개 달린 사람 형상의 작품들. 무거운 조형물에 비해 설치와 철거도 쉽고 원단에 원하는 대로 프린트해서 제작하면 되는 가벼운 조형물. 안에 조명을 설치하여 흥미를 유발하기엔 좋은 작품이다. 형태의 제약이 있겠지만 충분히 재미가 있음.
These air sculptures are installed outdoors. They resemble human figures with four eyes. Compared to heavier sculptures, they are easy to install and remove, and can be printed on fabric to create any desired effect. They are ideal for stimulating interest by installing lights inside. While their form may be limited, they are still quite enjoyable.

DDP Exhibition – Media Art Fall 2025. 비정형 곡면에 비추어진 영상이 어떠한 왜곡도 없이 살아 움직인다. 몇몇의 유치한 그림들이 있지만 기술적으로 참 놀랍다. 한참을 보았는데 맨처음 어두움 속 큰 소리와 함께 보랏빛 진파랑의 색이 몰려올때 어린 아이가 울기 시작했다. 압도된 기분에 무서웠는지… 편집을 하여 소리는 없지만 현장에는 숨죽여 영상을 즐기는 시민들이 참 많았다. 더웠지만 좋은 시간이었다.
The image projected onto the irregularly curved surface came alive, without any distortion. While there were a few childish images, the technical aspect was truly remarkable. I watched for a while, and at the very beginning, when a loud noise and a surge of purple and deep blue hues surged through the darkness, a young child began to cry. Perhaps overwhelmed and frightened… The sound was cut out, but there were many people on site, quietly enjoying the video. It was hot, but it was a wonderful time.
